Week in Sports - May 4 - 9
Last week was a busy week for our Tiger athletes. Varsity baseball and softball each played 4 games and both teams went 4-0. Our Varsity track team had a home dual on Tuesday and then competed in the Newaygo County Invite on Thursday in White Cloud. Our boys track team came away with a 2nd place finish in White Cloud. Girls soccer had home games on Monday (5-0 win vs Chip Hills), and on Wednesday against Big Rapids (8-0 loss). Then they finished a suspended game vs Tri County Thursday and took on Fremont Saturday. The boys JV baseball team, golf and tennis team also had a busy week of action. Take a look at some pictures of last weeks action.
Varsity softball home game vs Allendale has been canceled.
JV and Varsity baseball games at Marsh Field have been canceled tonight due to game time temperatures being in the 30s.
The Tigers competed at the beautiful Benona Shores Invitational on Thursday. Leading the way was Easton Swanson shooting 77 and finishing 24th out of 88 players. Gage Rasch shot 81 and finished 35th, and Zach Zerlaut shot 84 and finished 48th. Finishing the scoring was Cam Espinosa shooting 105 for a total of 347. Great job boys!"
Friday, May 1, 2026 the Grant Tigers JV and Varsity baseball teams will take on Allendale Falcons at the historic Marsh Field in Muskegon. Action starts at 5pm with the JV teams doing battle followed by the varsity teams which will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of the JV game.
Admission fee of $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for seniors and students. Children under five years of age will be admitted free.

Drive your Tractor to School Day has been moved to tomorrow, May 1st to accommodate our farming families and the planting season.
There is a lot of action Thursday. Dress warm and come out to support your Tigers. We have home Tennis, Varsity Baseball and Varsity Softball.

Score at the half....Grant 4 and Chip Hills 0. Bella Sullivan has a hat trick (3 goals) and Zahara Chuchoque with the other.
Grant Athletics - there is a lot going on so be sure to get out to our home contests and cheer on our athletes. This week Tuesday we will be hosting our first home track meet of the season vs Newaygo.
Today our Track Team travels north to compete in the Reed City Invite and they were able to bring home some medals. Great job to those that medaled along with the others who continue to improve!

Today's Athletics - Come out and support our Tigers, its a great day to be outside and watch some home Baseball and Softball!
We want to give a huge shout out to our Grant Athletic Booster for the purchase of our new golf cart. We also want to give a huge shout out to Never Enough Auto Accessories, especially Brad and Allen for all of their hard work, creative ideas, and the details to the cart. This cart will be used for our Athletics and our Athletic Trainer to help haul water and other supplies, set up events, transport injured athletes, etc. This is a huge upgrade from what we had and we are beyond thankful for our Athletic Boosters and Never Enough for making this happen! You all rock!!!

Congratulations to Coach Smith, his coaching staff and our Varsity Girls Basketball team for earning Academic All-State! As a team the girls had a 3.6054 GPA! Amazing job girls - way to represent GHS and be Scholar Athletes!
