Senior Night Update!!!

This Friday at our last home football game we will recognize our Seniors for Cheer, Football and Band. Cheer and Football recognition will begin at 6:30 prior to the game and our band members will be recognized at halftime before they start their performance.

Come on out and show your support to our seniors!

It's game day for soccer today. Tonight at 7PM they take on the Kent City Eagles at Kent City in a district semi-final match up. Come on out and support the Tigers!

Join us in congratulating Tyra Zerlaut on a great Junior Season of Golf! Tyra’s Season ended Saturday at Katke Golf Course with a 38th place finish and a two day total of 194 in the Division 3 State Championship. Tyra’s season: - 5 Tournament wins - CSAA Runner Up - CSAA All Conference - tied 1st in Regional 13 - Advanced to D3 State Championship - 38th out of 108 at State Championship Great Job Tyra!!

Win and advance! It's tournament time for soccer. Tonight our boys beat Chip Hills 5-1 in the first round of districts and advance to a Tuesday night game vs the winner of Kent City and Tri County. Tuesdays game will take place at Kent City. More information on that game coming soon.

Thank you Seniors! Last night we were able to recognize three amazing volleyball seniors before they played in the last home game. Congratulations to Lillian Gee, Chloe McGowen, and Lillian Bouwkamp!

Last Wednesday our Girls Golf team competed at Old Channel Trail in the MHSAA Regionals. Although our team did not advance Tyra Zerlaut finished in second place! After 18 holes Tyra was tied for 1st and ended up losing on the first playoff hole. Tyra will compete in the state finals on Oct. 16 and 17 at Katke Golf Course. Best of luck Tyra!

Grant Tiger Volleyball will recognize their three senior Athletes on Tuesday, Oct. 13th before the start of their varsity game. Come on out to watch some volleyball and help celebrate our three volleyball Seniors.

CSAA @ Moss Ridge The Tigers golf team played at Moss Ridge yesterday morning. The Tigers finished 2nd shooting a season low 410. Scoring for the Tigers were Tyra Zerlaut(90), Harleigh Engelhard(103), Ella Brummel(105), and shooting a PR for the second straight tournament Zaidabelle Stuart(112)! Great job Ladies!!

Monday our Tennis team hosted Fremont and came away with two wins. Landen Draney at 2 singles and our super senior Lincoln Richard's picked up a win in 1 singles. Coach Zerlaut also took time to recognize Lincoln Richards as it was also senior day. Thank you Lincoln for your hard work and dedication over the years.

On Saturday our Volleyball team hosted the Newaygo County tournament and made it to the finals losing to Fremont 0-2 for a second place finish. In pool play they beat Hesperian and Newaygo and then took out White Cloud in the first round of bracket play. Great job to the team and coaches.

On Friday we had three teams in action. Here is a recap.

Football - The Tigers traveled to Reed City on Friday night and battled a tough Coyote team. The final score in this one did not tell the whole story. The Tigers battled for all 4 quarters and left it all on the field.

Kohen Obenauf scored both of the Touchdowns for the Tigers, first on a 1 yard run in the 1st quarter and then again on an 81 yard scamper in the 3rd quarter that brought the Tigers back to within 2 scores. Kohen rushed 9 times for 106 yards. He also completed 5 of 19 passes for 106 yards.

Oscar Couturier carried the ball 2 time for 34 yards

On the receiving end for the Tigers, Emmerson Obenauf snagged 2 passes for 61 yards and Oscar Couturier snagged 3 passes for 45 yards. Couturier was 1 for 1 on PAT attempts for the game.

Soccer - Grant Soccer adds another win on Friday. Maddux Page scored 4 goals. 3 assists by Chandel Lara. Elijah Gort had 1 goal and an assist. Goalie Blake VanTreese had 9 saves. Final score Grant 5 and Fremont 1. Family and Fans you do not want to miss out the two home games next week.


Golf - The Girls traveled to Gracewill GC to compete in the Russ Johnson invite hosted by Kenowa Hills. Tyra Zerlaut took 4th place and Harleigh Engelhard took 6th in the black division. Both Zaidabelle Stuart and Bella Sullivan shot a personal best.

Last night our Varsity Soccer team remained unbeaten in conference play as they earned a win against Kent City 5-1. Here is a clip from WZZM 13 of the team and Maddux Page who scored 5 goals in the victory.

Last night our JV and Varsity volleyball teams traveled north to Newaygo to take on the Lions. Both teams came away with a sweep winning all three sets!

Wednesday the Grant Varsity Soccer travelled to Tri County High School on Wed Sep 2. The Tigers are coming off an 8 to 0 win over Reed City. After a warm first half Grant entered halftime with a 2 to 0 lead. Sophmore Maddux Page scored the first two goals. In the second half the Tigers kept control of the midfield. Maddux Page scored 3 more goals. Senior Chendel Lara, Junior Elijah Gort and Aiden Mansfield all scored goals. Ayden Clark,
Aiden Mansfield and Elijah Gort contributed an assist. Senior Luis Rodriguez and Senior Chandel Lara both had two assists. Sophmore Blake Vantreese had a clean sheet. Tiger defense was anchored by Senior Jaden McCullough. The Grant boys team remain unbeaten in conference and will travel next week to Kent City.

Tennis at Lowell has been cancelled due to the weather. We will be working on a reschedule date.

Today our girls traveled to Northwood GC and left as the Newaygo County Tournament Champs!!! Shooting 420!!! Scoring for the Tigers were Tyra Zerlaut(91) 1st Place , Harleigh Engelhard(99) 3rd Place , Ella Brummel(106) 5th Place , Bella Sullivan(124). Great job ladies!!!
