Project Overview

Grant Public Schools is seeking proposals from qualified contractors for the construction of a new driveway and parking lot. The scope includes a 10-foot-wide by 650-foot-long driveway and a 200-foot by 200-foot parking pad. Both areas are to be surfaced with 4 inches of millings.


Scope of Work

1. Driveway Construction

Dimensions: 10 feet wide by 650 feet long

Elevation: Finished surface must be constructed 2 inches above grade

Material: 4 inches of millings (approximately 88 cubic yards); GeoTech mat required

Preparation: Site clearing, grading, and any necessary excavation to ensure a stable base and proper drainage

Entryway Cleanup: Clean out the entryway, remove trees and brush as needed, and grade to create a clean, professional-looking entrance. Brush can be left on site.

2. Parking Pad Construction

Dimensions: 200 feet by 200 feet

Elevation: Finished surface must be constructed 2 inches above grade

Material: 4 inches of millings (approximately 543 cubic yards); GeoTech mat required

Preparation: Site clearing, grading, and any necessary excavation to ensure a stable base and proper drainage

3. Site Drainage

Implement proper drainage solutions to prevent standing water

May include minor grading or installation of drains, as necessary

4. Quality Control

Ensure proper compaction of millings for a smooth, durable surface

Adhere to all applicable local building codes and regulations


Timeline

The project is expected to be completed June 15th, 2025. Please include an estimated start date, completion date, and a timeline for each phase of construction in your proposal.

Relevant experience and examples of similar completed projects

Client references, if available

2. Detailed Pricing Breakdown

Cost of materials (millings, grading, excavation, etc.)

Labor costs

Total estimated project cost

Any additional charges for unforeseen conditions or changes in project scope

3. Proposed Timeline

Estimated start and completion dates

Phased construction schedule, if applicable

4. Insurance & Bonding

Proof of general liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage

Bonding information, if applicable

5. Warranty Information

Details regarding warranty coverage for materials and labor


Evaluation Criteria

Experience: Contractor’s experience with similar projects and client feedback

Timeline: Ability to meet proposed deadlines

Quality & Materials: Quality of materials and adherence to project specifications


Right to Reject Bids

Grant Public Schools reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The contract will be awarded based on the criteria outlined in this RFP. The school board may choose not to award a contract if none of the proposals meet the project’s requirements or expectations.
