Required Documentation

To register a student at one of our schools, we require the following documentation:

  • Child’s original birth certificate

  • Immunization records

  • Proof of Grant residency (utility bill, mortgage bill, or property tax statement)

  • Withdrawal forms (if transferring from another school) 

Students enrolled into GPS do not need to register every year. Please contact the administration office with any questions at (231) 834-5621.

Immunization Requirements

We abide by the immunization requirements set forth by the state of Michigan.

If you are new to the area or have a child who will be entering kindergarten in the fall, we welcome you! Visiting your child’s new school campus can help put jittery feelings at ease—both yours and your child’s—so we invite you to stop by the school to turn in all necessary registration forms and documentation.

NEW STUDENT SCHOOLS OF CHOICE, SECTION 105C

GPS has an unlimited number of Section 105C, schools of choice seats. Open enrollment is July 1 to September 1, 2023. Open enrollment opens again at the beginning of the second semester from January 9 to January 20, 2024. Please contact the administration office July 1, 2023, to complete the Section 105C form for the 2023–2024 school year.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

Kindergarten students must be at least five (5) years old on or before September 1 of the year they will begin school. Registration packets are available by contacting the Primary Center. The Primary Center will hold a parent informational meeting in the spring of the prior school year. At this meeting, parents meet teachers and staff, learn about different kindergarten programs, sign up for screening, and ask questions. Parents and guardians may contact the Primary Center secretary for more information. During the summer, when the Primary Center is closed, please contact the administration office
