Registration & Immunizations

If you are new to the area or have a child who will be entering kindergarten in the fall, we welcome you! Visiting your child’s new school campus can help put jittery feelings at ease—both yours and your child’s—so we invite you to stop by the school to turn in all necessary registration forms and documentation.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten students must be at least five (5) years old on or before September 1 of the year they will begin school. Registration packets are available by contacting the Primary Center. The Primary Center will hold a parent informational meeting in the spring of the prior school year. At this meeting, parents meet teachers and staff, learn about different kindergarten programs, sign up for screening, and ask questions. Parents and guardians may contact the Primary Center secretary for more information. During the summer, when the Primary Center is closed, please contact the administration office

All registrants who return a completed application by June 15 will receive a free "Tiger Tuesday" t-shirt.

Schools of Choice Program

We welcome potential schools-of-choice students seeking admission. If you are interested in enrolling at one of our school, please start with the enrollment form, and then contact the appropriate school for your child.

You may pick up the Schools of Choice Application at the administration office each spring. We require an application for each student. You must complete and return the application by June 1, and we will notify you regarding acceptance into our school district by August 1.

At the top of the application, be sure to select Newaygo County Schools if your child's resident district is Big Jackson, Fremont, Hesperia, Newaygo, or White Cloud. If the student is a resident of a non-Newaygo County School (e.g., Cedar Springs, Kent City, Ravenna, Tri-County), select 105C Application. Non-Newaygo County students must obtain a release from their resident school before applying to GPS.

Please read more information regarding the Newaygo County Schools of Choice Program.
