Hazard Pay Grant

The COVID-19 grant program was established by the state of Michigan to support both teachers and support staff working in public schools.

This grant program provides compensation to eligible k–12 classroom teachers and support staff in recognition of the additional efforts exerted during the 2019–2020 school year while supporting the continued learning of students during the closure. Pursuant to Public Act 166 of 2020, staff members that meet the eligibility requirements will receive this compensation directly from the state.

District Communications

Suspension of Face to Face Instruction - November 19, 2020

Our Administrators and Directors met this morning to discuss where we are as a District in regards to our ability to continue to provide quality instruction with as few interruptions as possible for our students. This meeting was precipitated by the ongoing concern over rising numbers of COVID in our community as well as the continued toll it is taking on our students, our staff, and our overall organization in our ability to function in regards to several people missing time from either being sick or having to quarantine. As we have discussed in prior communications, things change every single day and we have had to pause a couple of different times already this year because of those unfortunate situations. We encourage you to read through the suspension of face to face instruction letter in its entirety.

2020–2021 Return-to-School Plan - Revised August 5, 2020

Safe Start Return to School Plan

As you are all aware, school districts across Michigan have been busy planning for the upcoming school year with the recently released requirements and guidance documents from the state. It has been quite an undertaking for our Task Force that is comprised of: teachers, parents, health care workers, support staff, directors, administrators, and other stakeholders. They have worked tirelessly for the past several weeks to make sure we are in the best position to allow our students and staff to return as safely as possible. We have had to prepare plans for if we are in Phase 3, 4, or 5 of the Governor’s Safe Start Plan. Phase 3 would mean there would be no face-to-face instruction, only virtual. Phase 4 (which we are currently in) will allow both face-to-face and virtual. Phase 5 would be much more similar to how things were before the pandemic, with several new safety protocols in place.
