Copernicus Education Gateway < http://www.edgate.com > This useful web site has separate sections for teachers and students.  The teacher section offers a feature to search for lesson plans, a list of on-line courses that are offered, techniques for behavior management and a link to TeacherVision that features lessons that specifically incorporate technology.  The student section of this web site offers a Research Center with the option to search encyclopedias, on-line museums and libraries and search engines.  This web site can be used to locate lessons, which incorporate technology into the curriculum and to find out what kinds of courses may be offered on-line to enhance teaching practices.

 Awesome Library < http://www.awesomelibrary.org > :  This web site focuses on the use of the Internet in planning a classroom curriculum.  The site offers resources for teachers on how to integrate the Internet into the classroom.  There are several on-line tutorials a teacher can work through which help to make this task easier.  For students, there are tutorials students can look at which give information about safety on the Internet.  These tutorials are written for several different levels from kindergarten through high school.  Teachers can also use the links provided to purchase recommended software.

 Busy Teacher’s Web site K-12 < http://www.ceismc.gatech.edu/busyt/ This web site provides teachers with age appropriate, useful web sites to incorporate into their lesson plans.  The site is very basic and is designed for the teacher just learning to use the Internet.  There are also on-line tutorials for teachers to help them learn how to use different software and a step-by-step guide to building a simple web page.  This could be a good tool for a teacher to design a class web page.  Also offered are software reviews.

You Can Handle Them All < http://www.disciplinehelp.com/ This is a helpful site for all teachers!  The site provides step-by-step ways to successfully handle 117 misbehaviors that occur in the classroom.  Topics range from the defiant student to the student who constantly blurts out.  Included in this site is reading material about the major causes of misbehavior and the seven primary and eight secondary needs of students.  Especially helpful is the section that discusses the nine ways people are motivated.

Bigchalk-The Education Network < http://www.bigchalk.com > This is a wonderful site for both teachers and media specialists.  The resources are too numerous to list!  Some highlights include: resources for integrating technology into the curriculum, how to design a class web page, on-line projects student can get involved in, using e-mail in the classroom and many links to educational technology organizations.  There is also assessment tool information, lesson plans and curriculum standards.  The resources for media specialists are perhaps even more impressive.  They include: places to apply for grant funding, library standards, book lists and ways to celebrate special events such as Read Across America and Dr. Seuss’ birthday.

Teachers @ Work < http://www.teachers.work.co.nz > This site reviews over 5,000 web sites for teacher and student use.  The reviews are organized by subject area and each month the site chooses the Top Ten web sites.  Each review is based on 23 criteria ranging from the credibility of the source to the ease of use.  Each review provides an appropriate age level and a direct link to the site.  There is also the option to search for a particular site.  This site could be used to create a Filamentality Hotlist and a Hunt. 

Teachers.net < http://www.teachers.net/ >  This is a very well organized site with the primary purpose being teacher support and sharing.  The site offers a variety of different chat rooms where teachers can go to pose questions to other teachers or to share ideas.  There is also a research center where teachers can search for information, web sites or lesson plans on a particular topic.
