Welcome to Grant Public Schools Transportation Department
At this time, we would like to help you get familiar with our transportation system.
You may reach us by phone 231-834-5964 or by email (email@example.com ) our office is open Monday – Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during the school year. If you need help in an emergency after 5:30 p.m. you may leave a message and someone will call you back. We do monitor the messages for the After School Program parent calls &/or if a student did not make it home on their bus. Other calls will be returned the next business day.
We ask that when filling out the Transportation Form at the beginning of the year, or when making changes during the school year, that you choose only one place on the form for morning pickup and one for the afternoon drop off. Your child may be picked up at one location (home or sitter) and dropped at another location, but it must be the same place ALL week.
If you do need to make changes during the year, we do ask for 48 hours notice of the change. Absolutely NO CHANGES can be made after 2 p.m. for the ride home, even in an emergency. In that case, you should meet the child at their normal drop location or call the office and pick them up there.
In the p.m. the High School students are not allowed to catch their bus at the Middle School or at the Elem/PC. We send all our buses over to the HS now, so if they miss their bus there, they should report to the office for instructions. Also the same goes for the Middle School students, if they miss loading at their building, they should report back to their office for instructions.
In the morning, if your child is sick and does not need the bus to pick them up, please call and leave a message at 231-834-5964 at least one hour before the bus normally arrives so the driver does not feel they need to wait or call you. Please have students out waiting at the stop and not waiting inside or on the porch. They should be out 5-10 minutes before the bus is due to / normally arrives.
Last of all, we do not allow students to ride home with other students, except in an extreme emergency. We run a very efficient bus system, so our buses are generally filled to capacity. If you have an emergency, please call us ASAP and make sure you talk to someone in the Transportation department directly, and also call the building. I would rather have two notes to the drivers(s) involved to make sure the student is where they are supposed to be.
Please go over this information & the bus rules with your child. We are looking forward to having a safe school year. If we can be of any assistance, please call us or email me.
