Grant Varsity Volleyball team is having an amazing season with an overall record of 42-11. They have won 4 tournaments, placed 2nd in the league, they won Districts, and won their semi-final Regional game. Making it to Regional Finals is the farthest any Grant Volleyball team has done (to my knowledge). The girls have accomplished this because of their dedication to the team. They put their teammates first, they get along well with each other, they make volleyball a priority, and they have high expectations of themselves and each other. I have truly been blessed with a wonderful group of girls to work with - they make my job easy and fun! Congratulations, girls!
2011 season: We are having a great season. The girls get along very well. We focus a lot on getting along and working as a team, not as individuals; making decisions that will be best for our team and accepting our roles on the team. Everyone has been a contributing member of the team and it's been awesome to have a group of 10 players that can step on the floor with confidence. They have set attainable goals for the season, which includes winning the winnable games, keeping our losses under 10, winning a district title, and finishing 1st or 2nd in the league. As of Oct. 4, we are 23-7 and focusing on finishing strong toward reaching our goals. We had an awesome tournament win at Spring Lake, Oct. 8. This was our second tournament win. We are going for 3 this year! Our overall record is now 29-8. The girls continue to gain confidence and momentum as the season progresses. We are looking forward to a very strong finish in league and districts. Reaching regionals is our goal!
