Grant Athletic Boosters Club
Scholarship Award
Purpose: To award a one-time scholarship to two (2) male and two (2) female student- athletes by the Grant Athletic Boosters Club to recognize the student-athlete that most represents the all-around athlete and who has represented the school not only athletically, but also academically and with good sportsmanship.
Criteria: The following criteria must be met to be considered:
1. Minimum of four (4) completed seasons in High School participation, during a 4-year span.
2. Must have maintained a grade point average (GPA) of no less than a 2.5; a transcript must accompany the application.
3. Must have demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and respect for coaches, peers, officials, and administrators throughout their high school career;
4. Must be a senior who must have applied or demonstrate to apply to an accredited trade school, college or university.
Application:A written application must be submitted by the student-athlete to the Grant Athletic Boosters Scholarship Committee. The application must have the approval of at least one coach and the student-athlete’s guidance counselor, before being submitted. The coach’s recommendation form should be sent under separate cover to the address below.
Essay: Applicants are requested to submit a type-written essay of at least 400 hundred words and no more then 600 hundred words describing the career path of your choice and yourself as an applicant.
Selection: The Scholarship Committee will be given all qualified applications for review and will select the four (4) individuals to be awarded the scholarships.
Award: Four (4)scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to two (2) male and two (2) female student-athletes at the annual Senior Awards event. A master plaque with the names of all recipients will be placed in the main trophy area of the school.
Payment: The scholarship payment will be made directly to the specified trade school, college or university. Scholarship must be used within one (1) year of award.
