Muskegon Community College Black Youth Conference, Thursday Feb. 25 from 8:30 am - 1:30 pm.  This conference is for ninth graders, must submit registration by February 5.  See your school counselor to sign up.

ACT Preparation Workshops are being offered at Muskegon Community College.  Writing Workshops (from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm) and English and Reading Comprehension Workshops (from 1:00 - 4:00) are being offered in January, March, or May.  Cost is $33.00.  Math and Science Reasoning Workshops (from 9:30 am - 1:00 pm)are offered on February, March, and June.  To register, call 231-777-0250.

Juniors - get ready to take the ACT in March.  To practice and prepare, go to www.petersons.com/testprep/, or visit www.actstudent.org.  Another link to check out is www.michigan.gov/mme - this link will provide free ACT prep information as well as the new MME test all juniors are required to take.

Juniors - you should be setting up college visits for this winter.  Go to the home page of the college of interest and click on Admissions Office.  From there, you will be able to register for a college visit online, or by phone.

Seniors - Fill out your FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1.  Most financial aid is given on a first-come, first-served basis.  Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to apply.  You must get a PIN number first before applying.  The PIN application is linked on our Financial aid & Scholarships link.

Seniors - The Fremont Area Foundation Scholarship Application is available on the web at www.tfacf.org.  Deadline to apply is March 15.

The Gerber Foundation Scholarship deadline is February 28. Apply online at www.gerberfoundation.org.

Michigan Masonic Foundation has scholarship applications for Grant HS students.  They always select 1 or 2 GHS students to win a scholarship.  Applications can be picked up in the counseling office scholarship files.  Deadline to apply is January 30.  Return applications to Mrs. Schuitema

National Wild Turkey Federation's Academic Scholarship (in memory of Brian Bouwkamp, Class of 2002) deadline is January 15.  Applications are in the counseling office.

Behind in credits?  Night School is available after school
every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15 - 5:15 for those students who are
behind in credits.  Credit Recovery will also be available in Grant over
the summer.
 

Need Summer School Credits?  Summer school applications are in the counseling office.  Deadline to apply is June 2.  Cost is FREE.  See your counselor for details.

Interested in visiting Muskegon Community College?  MCC is proud to announce a visitation program on Saturday, Nov. 7 @ 10 AM for prospective students.  There will be several presentations to attend, meet with faculty and staff, and get prepared for your career goals.  To sign up, call 231-777-0364.

Dual Enrollment:  Students interested in dual enrollment need to get their paperwork turned into Mrs. Schuitema by May 1 for the following school year.

Any sophomore interested in The United State Military Academy at West Point should consider attending a Summer Leaders Seminar in June.  Visit the website http://admissions.usma.edu and fill out an application prior to March 31.
