PEANUT BUTTERSCOTCH POPCORN CUTOUT SQUARES

 

10 cups popped popcorn                                ½ cup peanuts

½ cup margarine or butter                             10 oz. butterscotch morsels

1 10 ½ oz. bag marshmallows                           vegetable cooking spray

½ cup peanut butter                                      ¼ cup chopped peanuts

 

  1. Put the popcorn in the large bowl.
  2. Put the margarine in the frying pan over medium heat. When the margarine is melted, turn the heat to low and add the marshmallows.  Stir constantly until melted.
  3. Add peanut butter and stir well.  Remove the mixture from the heat and add the warm mixture to the large bow. Filled with popcorn.
  4. Add the peanuts, stirring until everything is coated.
  5. Fold in butterscotch morsels.
  6. Spray the cookie sheet with cooking oil spray.
  7. Pour the popcorn mixture onto the cookie sheet, and press it into the pan. If the mixture gets too sticky, dampen your hands with cold water.
  8. Sprinkle the chopped peanuts on top.
  9. Put the pan in the refrigerator for one hour to set.
  10. Cut into squares with the serrated knife and serve.
