Listed on this page are the results of our fundraisers. Inch by inch, we'll make our goal of $20,000 to put on this wonderful event and establish a much-loved tradition for our kids! Check back often to see how close we are getting.
Little River Casino
Trip
Well, the dust has settled on our Little River Casino Trip and everyone had a great time! We had a minor setback of one of the two buses breaking down before reaching our pick-up point at the high school. Not to worry though, 1½ hours later the second bus was on the road and we still had a great time! On top of that, the bus company told us to keep the payment for the second bus, so it was all profit. We made approximately $2,500 on the casino bus trip after including food sales, raffles and bingo. We look forward to our next trip in May!
Ball Tip Sizzler
Sale!
The ball tip sizzler orders are in the process of being turned in. The order is being placed tomorrow. It looks like we have sold 86 cases of steaks, which leaves us a profit of $430, which was slightly over our projected goal! Great job senior families for getting those orders. The steaks will be ready for pickup/delivery on Tuesday, January 30th and Wednesday January 31 at the Middle School Kitchen. Any Questions, please call Kathi at 834-5621.
Formal Dress Sale
We had 208 items donated from all over the county for the formal dress sale. On Saturday, we had shoppers from all over the area, including Fremont, Newaygo, Tri-County and Cedar Springs. It was great to see the girls coming in, and many left with fantastic bargains! We sold 24 items, totaling $758 in sales. The Senior All-Nighter, after donations, made $446.23, which was just shy of our $500 goal. All in all we had a great time and we're getting closer to our $20,000 overall goal!
Spaghetti Dinner
We had a decent turnout for the Spaghetti Dinner on January 5th. Annie & Doug Pascoe, Bob & Kathi Thornton, Sandy Smith and Jill Niewiadomski made Bob's Special Spaghetti Sauce on Wednesday. We'd like to thank those parents that worked on Friday to prepare and serve the dinner. It looks like we'll make approximately $540.00 on the event. Thanks to all those that came out to support the All-Nighter.
Pop Can Drive
The Pop Can Drive was held on Saturday, January 6th at Gene's Family Market. Thanks to Sandy & Kevin Smith, Kathi Thornton & Jill Niewiadomski that came in to help sort cans. We made $131.00 for the effort.
Pancake Dinner
We had a pretty good turnout for the pancake dinner, especially in light of all of the other activities happening around the district on that night. The Bills are in and it looks like we made $418.07 for our pancake dinner. Logistically, everything went well. Thank you to all the parents that showed up to help out. We have some great cooks in our senior parents! Check back soon for pix from the event!
Submarine Sale
Our submarine fundraiser turned out to be a HUGE success. Who would've ever guessed the 25% of the senior class would participate and end up selling over 2100 sub sandwiches! On November 11th, a contingency of senior parents stormed into the Gene's Family Market deli to take over and assemble these much-loved sandwiches. It took a team of about 18 people 3.5 hours to assemble, wrap and sort all 2100 sub sandwiches. The Senior All-Nighter Parent Committee would like to give a big THANK YOU to the following parents that chipped in their help... Chris Sorden, Annie Pascoe, Sue Jenema, Deb Toohey, Ruth Ann Bull, Sandy Smith, Tammie Purcell, Sheryl Taylor, Billie Haskin, Aide Echavarria, Betty Davidson, Lynne & Harold Frey, Mary Weaver, Pam Beerman, Tina Frey, Amy Ferris, Brenda McCracken, Terri Meekhof, Jill Niewiadomski, Carol Friske, Michelle Deuling, and Kathi Thornton. I also can't be remiss in thanking Bo Thornton for his muscles hauling in the huge trays of meat during the whole process. Please, if you were there helping and I missed your name, please give me (Kathi) a call at 834-5621 so I can update this page! We truly appreciate all of the work you've put in and want to recognize you for it. We would also like to give a heart-felt thanks to Joe & Chris Sorden for opening up Gene's Family Market to us and for donating the supplies at cost so that we could have such a successful fundraiser. Gene's has always been a longstanding supporter of Grant Public Schools. Please show them your support by stopping by for your next grocery order--if you see Chris or Joe, make sure to say thank you for their support. Thank you also to Delilah in the Deli for spending a whole day slicing the several hundreds of pounds of meat for the sandwiches. What a trooper! THE DUST HAS SETTLED! We made $2,800 on this fundraiser. Great job to all involved! Here's some pix we took while we labored making the subs...
