Vocal music is offered in grades Kindergarten through grade 12.  Under the direction of Mrs. Karen O'Brien and Mr. Andrew Buikema students develop the basic skills and tools necessary to be vocally literate.  They learn such things as tempo, properties of tune, dynamics and patterns.  They learn about pitch, notes and tone.  Students develop the ability to sing solo and in groups, recognize instruments and play Orff style instruments.

Students in our choirs learn to sing with expression and technical accuracy from a large and varied repertoire of vocal literature with a moderate level of difficulty, including some songs performed from memoryThey sing music written in four parts, with and without accompaniment.  And finally they perform an appropriate part in large and small ensembles, demonstrating well-developed ensemble skills.

Various music performances are held throughout the year.
